Science units are done in trimesters which means first graders will have three main units. Science always involves increased vocabulary, paired/cooperative learning and scientific method. The scientific method involves:

Second Unit is Animals & Their Needs
Animals and their needs will be a until later in the school year. Learning about animal habitats is exciting for kids. We'll have some live animals in the classroom and each student will do an animal research project. Stay tuned for information about this in your Thursday Folder.
